Hensley Land Management is a family-operated land clearing and site services company based in Cincinnati, Ohio. Founded by father-and-son team Kenneth “Joe Sr.” Hensley and Joseph “Joe Jr.” Hensley, the company combines decades of construction and heavy-equipment experience with military leadership, operational management, and a firsthand understanding of what it takes to maintain and improve property.

Our goal is straightforward: provide professional land-management and site services customers can depend on while treating every property with the same care and attention we would give our own.

The Hensley Story

For us, land management started with our own property.

After Joe Jr. purchased a 52-acre farm, maintaining and reclaiming the property quickly became a hands-on education in just how much work goes into managing acreage. Clearing overgrowth, maintaining access, operating equipment, and turning previously unusable ground back into productive property became something he genuinely enjoyed.

It also exposed a problem: finding dependable land services that combined quality workmanship, good communication, and reasonable pricing wasn't always easy.

With Joe Jr.'s experience operating equipment and managing complex operations and Joe Sr.'s decades of construction, excavation, and site-development experience, starting Hensley Land Management became a natural next step.

Today, we're building a company capable of serving everyone from a homeowner trying to reclaim part of their property to contractors, builders, developers, and commercial customers preparing land for what's next.

Meet the Hensley Men

Joe “Jr.” Hensley

Joe Jr. brings a combination of heavy-equipment experience, military leadership, operational management, and business education to Hensley Land Management.

A graduate of the United States Air Force Academy with a degree in Geospatial Science and an MBA, Joe Jr. spent a decade serving as a U.S. Air Force officer, where his responsibilities centered on leading people, managing equipment and resources, coordinating complex operations, and executing missions where preparation and attention to detail mattered.

Outside of his military career, Joe Jr. has approximately seven years of equipment-operating experience and owns a 52-acre farm where he has gained firsthand experience maintaining acreage, clearing overgrown land, and improving property with heavy equipment.

That combination of field experience and operational leadership shapes his approach to Hensley Land Management: communicate clearly, plan the job correctly, take care of the customer's property, and deliver what was promised.

For Joe Jr., Hensley Land Management represents an opportunity to return home to Cincinnati, build something alongside his father, and create a company capable of serving the community for years to come.

Joe “Joe Sr.” Hensley

Joe Sr. brings more than 25 years of hands-on construction, excavation, and heavy-equipment experience to Hensley Land Management.

Throughout his career, he has worked across nearly every phase of site development, including land and site preparation, excavation, grading, compaction, utilities, concrete work, new construction, and heavy-equipment operation.

His experience includes working as a foreman, site-prep leadman, heavy-equipment operator, and business owner, giving him an understanding of projects from both the operator's seat and the management side. He has supervised excavation and construction crews, coordinated subcontractors and materials, obtained permits, interpreted site plans and blueprints, established grade, and helped ensure projects were completed safely and efficiently.

Joe Sr.'s field experience includes operating excavators, dozers, loaders, and other heavy equipment, along with extensive work involving dirt crews, grading, excavation, layout and surveying, pipe installation, drainage, storm sewer and water systems, concrete preparation and finishing, and framing.

Before Hensley Land Management, Joe Sr. owned and operated Hensley & Sons, where he built custom homes, and later Hensley Express, which he successfully operated for more than 15 years.

Joe Sr. is also a United States Navy veteran, honorably discharged in 1992, and is OSHA 10 certified. His military service, decades of field experience, and background as a business owner reinforce the principles he brings to every Hensley project: dependability, communication, attention to detail, safety, and doing the job right.

We're building the company to handle everything from residential acreage and forestry mulching to excavation, site preparation, contractor support, and larger commercial projects as our equipment and capabilities continue to grow.
